Charles (Chuck) Hammell is fully accredited member of the Appraisal Institute of Canada, receiving the AACI, P. App. designation in 2004. He works as a fee appraiser with M. Machel & Associates Ltd., with experience in a wide range of property types including multi residential properties, industrial, commercial and institutional properties and land valuation. Since 2008, a significant part of his practice has included multi-residential property and land valuation relating to the student rental market in Waterloo, which has been an area of rapid growth and development activity.
Previous appraisal experience has included residential fee appraisal work in the Region of Waterloo and surrounding area, having been granted the CRA (Canadian Residential Appraiser) designation from the Appraisal Institute of Canada in 1984. Chuck also has a background that includes 6 years as a mortgage development officer and appraiser for the Royal Trust Kitchener office. Related experience with the Ontario Ministry of Revenue Assessment Office in Brantford as a property assessor, and with Marshall, Macklin, Monaghan Consulting Engineers and Surveyors in a survey crew has provided valuable background for work in the fee appraisal field.
Chuck has a Bachelor of Environmental Studies (major in Geography) degree from the University of Waterloo, and is a long-time resident of Kitchener-Waterloo.
